Issues & Goals

Special Needs & Medically Fragile Children

Seminole County has known issues with how they care for and treat Special Needs & Medically Fragile Children. Having firsthand experience with this, David intends to work closely with the School District to implement new policies and bring to light issues that he has experienced with one of his children so others won’t have to suffer in the future.

Programs & Activities

David appreciates the joy and fulfillment that extracurricular activities bring to students. Having participated in his high school Marching Band, he understands the significant impact these programs have on children's lives. David is committed to expanding these opportunities and securing additional funding, rather than cutting them.

Proper Use of Technology In the School Setting

With nearly a decade of experience in the technology field, David is well-equipped to collaborate with Seminole County Schools' IT department to improve technology integration in the classroom. His goal is to enhance educational outcomes through effective technology use while reducing cell phone distractions during the school day.

Community & Parental Involvement in our Schools

David is committed to partnering with our local community and parents to enhance their involvement in addressing their children’s educational needs. He believes that parental engagement is crucial in every decision that impacts a child’s education.

Fiscal Responsibility & Being Good Fiduciaries

With over four years of experience on the Sanford Police Officers Retirement System Board of Trustees, David understands the critical role of managing public funds responsibly. He believes in striking a balance between fiscal responsibility and ensuring that essential services for children are not compromised.

Teacher & Support Staff Pay

David believes that schools cannot function without dedicated teachers and support staff. He feels that many current school board members prioritize cost-cutting measures over supporting their staff, often disregarding the impact these decisions have on both people and programs.

Accountability at ALL Levels of the School District

David believes that Seminole County Schools must improve accountability throughout the entire district. He observes that when issues arise, blame is often directed at employees rather than leaders. David aims to implement policies that ensure accountability for leadership, not just for the hardworking staff.

Simplifying Access & Visibility to Family Resources

David aims to simplify access to resources and highlight programs for families that might otherwise remain unknown. Drawing from his own experiences navigating the challenges of securing necessary resources for his children, David is dedicated to easing this burden for future families within the school district.
